Kellie Let’s It Go

This one’s for you, Kellie.

The pavement glows white in the early morning light,
a lot of footsteps to be heard.
A kingdom of running, and it looks like, Kellie’s queen.

The families are howling like some rabid spectators,
Couldn’t keep Doug in,
Heaven knows, Kellie tried.

Let them in,
And let them see,
Be the runner you really have to be,
Conceal don’t feel, don’t let them know,
Well Danielle knows!

Let it go! Let it go!
Kellie’s running her first marathon!
Let it go! Let it go!
The Crossfit girl is gone!
There she runs, in the light of day!
Kellie doesn’t care what they’re going to say,
Let the miles tick oooooooon,
’cause running never bothered Kellie anyway.

It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small,
and the fears that once controlled her, can’t get to her at all!
It’s time to see what Kellie can do,
to test the limits and break through!
No stopping now, no time for breaks! No stops for Kellie,
She’s freeeeee!

Let it go! Let it go!
Kellie’s one with the Florida highway,
Let it go! Let it go!
You’ll never see her cry!
There she runs,
And she’ll keep on running,
Let the miles tick oooooooooon!

Her power flurries through the air into the ground,
Her words are getting hostile like icy blasts,
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast,
I hope the grapefruit beer isn’s something we ran past!

Let it go, let it go!
Let her cross the finish line,
Let it go, let it go!
The Crossfit girl is gone!
Here she stands in the light of day,
Let Doug cheer on,
‘Cause Kellie just ran her first marathon.

  1. OMG! I love this so much! And I’m not gonna lie, because training for this sucker has made me a big freaking cry baby, I did get teary-eyed reading this…oh, and you have no idea how accurate “Her words are getting hostile like icy blasts” will be. It’s gonna be bad. Keep small children far FAR away from me.
